Food

Food doesn’t have to be expensive in Paris, unless you prefer to eat out every day. However, one advice I have to give, is be aware of tourist traps in the city. Many times food won’t be that great in these tourist trap restaurants and the price you pay would not be worth it. So here are my worth it recommendations and taste approved cuisines.

Restaurants

*Restaurants are considerably expensive in this city. Expect to pay 15-25$ per meal (especially found by places closer to tourist spots.) I don’t recommend eating at places close to tourist spots because the quality of food is not worth the price.

  1. $ Bistro de Peintre

    1. Probably the most bang for your buck restaurant. Meals cost like 15$, and the fries are so freaking good

  2. $$$ Angelina's

    1. Bougie chain restaurant but the hot chocolate is a must try. It's super sweet so I suggest sharing one with your friend :) The restaurant by the Tuileries garden will give you the BEST elaborate Parisian restaurant experience.

  3. $$$ Any “Mamma” Restaurant-

    1. Pricey but GOOD italian food. Like so freaking good

      1. Big Love - I went here and the pasta was sooooo amazing

      2. Pink Mamma

      3. East Mamma

  4. $$ Laduree

    1. Gotta try Laduree macarons, the bombest macarons in the world. I swear to jesus lord himself, if you don't try these i will be hella disappointed in you

  5. $$ L'entrecote

    1. Specialty restaurant with french steak and fries, pretty bomb, but careful since its in the Champs Elysee, the waiters will try to scam you. Food is pretty good though

  6. $ Le Chalet Savoyard

    1. Fondue place by the bastille. I haven't been here but there is pretty good reviews. Fondue is pretty good haha

Supermarkets - if you wanna save money and get something cheap and affordable to eat go get quick foods at these supermarkets. Hopefully they can be around your area haha. I rank from best to okay

  1. Carrefour

  2. Franprix

  3. Mark and Spencers

  4. Monoprix

Marché

If you want a more local experience, go to a marché! Happens in residential areas of the city at least once a week, marchés are basically like affordable farmers markets where you can get the freshest France grown fruits and vegetables. Here are the most notable ones

  1. Marché d’Aligres

  2. Bastille

Specialty Stores

Boulangerie (bakery) -- Highly recommend for breakfast and afternoon snack. Please i beg you to try croissants and baguettes. You don't need any added preservatives on that shit because they are good on their own. Any place that says “boulangerie” should be an overall good experience. My FAVORITE place and to my opinion the best place is Banette by the Bastille. The”croissant de amande” is the best I have ever tasted.

Fromagerie (Cheese store) — As you may well know, that France is famous for their cheeses. If you don’t mind the stench, check out some fromageries and try some genuine cheese. You will not taste cheese the same ever again.
